Not weighed myself but I did measure my bump, it's currently 87cm at the widest point. Still able to disguise bump reasonably well, I feel like it's just about starting to look I'm pregnant rather than bloated! Will be showcasing little bump in all it's glory soon in everything clingy I can find.

Last week was difficult, my Nan passed away in November and it was her funeral last week - hence why I've jumped from 20 to 22 weeks. I just didn't fancy blogging.
I've also been back at the hospital with complications after only being back at work for a week. All is well with  baby bump though, he/she had a lovely strong heartbeat and was completely unphased.

Christmas, the move and wrapping all my gifts. I seriously love wrapping presents. 

For the past two months I've felt like I've really been stuck in an enormous rut, clothing and style wise. I've not ventured too far from my home and getting changed out of my pyjamas has felt like an awful lot of fuss. Obviously, I've not felt particularly great so that's been a huge factor in my new lethargic attempt at 'fashion', which has mainly involved key items such as; fluffy bed socks, an oversized polka dot dressing gown, cosy leggings, slouchy jumpers and black cami tops.
Another setback that's added to my rather miserable mood as of late, has been the delay from the developers in the purchase of our new home. We were assured that we would be in by the end of October, at the moment the best estimate they can give us is the second week of December. Sigh.

After much soul searching, a therapeutic chat with Liam and a trip to Manchester later, I decided to reassess the situation. I needed to pick myself up, dust myself off, stop feeling sorry for myself and go out there and do what I want. Turns out that what I wanted was basically a bunch of new clothes.


I'm fully aware that I'm now 21 weeks pregnant (Well, 20 +6 as I'm writing this, so pretty much 21). However, I'm still pretty slim and bump is still tiny so I'm taking advantage of that fact and I'm sizing up slightly from an XS to a S and a M in some items. I really despise a lot of the maternity clothes out at the moment, if I can make do with just normal clothes, I will. I placed my order online after trying a few things on in store, so *fingers crossed* all will be ok sizing wise.
I'll update with my favourites after my parcel has arrived but for now can we just take a moment to appreciate this 'Geometric Tote'. Ahhhhh, I'm feeling better already.

20 weeks +2 days

Finally weighed myself. I'm now exactly 59kg, this is definitely the heaviest I've ever been. 




We're still not in our new home. The mortgage advisor misspelt my first name on one of the applications (it had been corrected for her 3 times, Katie not Katy) and it's caused a delay. Just hoping to be in before Christmas now.

19 weeks +3 days


I managed to get a little creative this week. Me and Liam have come to an agreement, whilst I wasn't sure if I wanted to know our baby's gender and he really, really did, we've decided on waiting until Christmas Eve to find out. I don't want to spoil it too much so I'll do a full post after Christmas to let you know how we managed to keep the gender a secret.

We went on a little afternoon lunch date for healthy smoothies, hummus, pitta and carrot sticks. Delicious!

Having another hard week. Things were tough with a family member passing away this week, I'd rather not talk about it at the moment. I'm still signed off work, feeling nervous for my heart scan and ECG monitor fitting on Monday.

After I've had my heart checks (echocardiogram and ECG) on Monday (16th November) I get to head on over to the antenatal unit and see my little one wiggling away for my 20 week scan - so excited!
Also purchased another journal to use alongside my Baby B Pregnancy Journal,   it's from Orla Kiely and is pretty beautiful. It will be a more edited down version of my B.B journal and it has lots more space for photos!

I'm not sure about their claims to help with premature ageing and fine lines in the under eyes area as that's not an issue I have just yet. The puffiness around my eyes was reduced and my skin felt brighter, like I'd had a full 8 hours sleep.

18 weeks and 1 day

The pain. It hasn't really subsided, I just feel like I'm learning to manage it a bit better. I have medication to help now and I have been taking it, I just feel a bit guilty every time I need to have one. I know the baby is doing great and I wouldn't have been prescribed it if there were any side effects but I still get a little pang of conscience that I should be able to handle this myself, not using pharmaceuticals.

Is it too early to say I'm excited for Christmas? Looking forward to moving into our new home, still no completion date as such but it can't be far off. Have a little peek at the view we get to look out on.

So, I've not really been updating this blog as much as I had previously hoped I would. A full time job with nearly 3 hours of commuting each day had left me with what felt like only a tiny window in which to; spend time with the boyfriend, see family, have a social life and look after myself.
Inevitably, my blog has been neglected. I've just felt so drained and unmotivated, writing blog posts and trying to allocate the time to allow me to produce quality posts that I'm proud to put up just felt impossible.  I'm not going to beat myself up about it. As life changes, so do your priorities and my priorities are now set for another major upheaval... After 6 years together me and Mr.S are going to become parents.


My due date is the 5th of April and we're beyond excited! I'm hoping to fully immerse myself in all things baby. My immediate family is only pretty small and I've not really spent much time around any small babies for more than a two minute cuddle and then passed back to their Mum. In that respect, I'm slightly terrified but apparently it's healthy to feel a bit nervous.
I'm hoping that getting back to my blog will help me connect with other Mum's so I can feel a bit more reassured that I'm going to be ok. I'm also looking forward to buying all things baby related and decorating the nursery in our new home.
On a personal level, I think I will appreciate documenting my pregnancy and having something to look back on. I've noticed so many changes within myself already, it must be so easy to forget all these little things - so not matter how tired or grumpy I may be feeling, I hope I'll be able to convince myself to regularly update my little pregnancy posts.

We'd now reached the final leg of our European journey. Passing through Zagreb, Croatia's capital city and travelling down to Split and it's surrounding islands. We didn't spend too much time in Zagreb, so I don't have much to say. I had a lovely pizza in one of the local restaurant's, the name has slipped my mind, but there were many to pick from! The one we finally decided on had an excellent selection of local beers.
